Coconut milk
1 cup
Cold water
1/4 cup
Granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Soak rice, pasilla chile, and cinnamon stick in warm water for 24 hours.

  2. Step 2

    Remove pasilla chile and one cinnamon stick. Blend remaining mixture on high speed for 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Pass mixture through a fine mesh strainer

  4. Step 4

    Mix in the coconut milk, cold water, sugar, and Swiss Miss until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  5. Step 5

    Add ice to four glasses and divide the Horchata evenly into glasses. If desired, garnish with ground cinnamon.
