CALIFORNIA HOT DOG SAMMIE

HERBED SHERRY VINAIGRETTE
Sherry vinegar 2 oz
Shallots, minced 2 tbsp
Black pepper, cracked 1 tsp
Salt, kosher 1 tsp
Extra virgin olive oil 6 oz
Parsley, chopped 2 tbsp
Chives, chopped 2 tbsp
CALIFORNIA HOT DOG SAMMIE
Sourdough roll 1
Hebrew National® Beef Frank, butterflied74956 18463 1
Provolone cheese, sliced 1-1/2 oz
Baby spinach 1/4 oz
Tomato, sliced 1 oz
Alfalfa sprouts 1/4 oz
Avocado, sliced 1-1/2 oz
Herbed Sherry Vinaigrette (see recipe) 1 oz

Preparation:

  1. To make VINAIGRETTE: In a small mixing bowl, combine the vinegar, shallots, pepper, salt and olive oil. Whisk together and add herbs. Hold for service.
  2. To make SANDWICH: With a bread knife, cut roll in half. Hollow out bread by removing some of the crumb.
  3. On a hot grill, butterfly and char the frank until heated.
  4. Starting on the butt of the roll, layer the ingredients as follows: frank, provolone cheese, spinach, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, avocado, vinaigrette, crown of roll.
  5. Cut sandwich in half and serve.
