Ro*tel Recipe Showdown Winners Announced

OMAHA, Neb. (October 28, 2011) –ConAgra Foodservice is proud to announce the winners of The Ro*Tel® Recipe Showdown!, a recipe contest giving Foodservice Operators the opportunity to showcase their creativity using Ro*Tel Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies. Operators submitted a wide range of recipes from snacks and appetizers, to soups and entrées. The top three Operators were chosen and awarded prizes of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.

“We were very impressed by the creativity and range of recipes submitted,” said Cindy Bombacino, Director of Marketing. “These Operators really demonstrated the versatility of Ro*Tel Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies beyond the traditional dishes that typically come to mind.”

Taking home the top prize in the Ro*Tel Recipe Showdown! were the zesty Tequila and Lime Short Ribs conceived by Keith S. Josselyn of ARAMARK Marketplace in Portland, Ore. In second place, W. Douglas Hildreth from Camp Spofford, in Keene, N.H. wowed with his delicious Double Chili-Infused Chocolate Ganache Cupcakes. Chef Keith Esbin of the Bar Harbor Seafood in Orlando, Fla., took home the third place prize with his unique Fiesta Spoon Bread.
